Snowboards
This season we’re adding a few new brands to our line-up. This year Lib
Tech, Special Blend, and Volcom will be on the floor alongside the massive
array of old favorites (see opposite page). Last season saw dump after dump
of snow and the finger-crossed predictions are the same for this season.
Collingwood conditions were epic, and the parks were shaped to Ontario
perfection. As far as new technologies, we saw the introduction of Burton’s
EST binding system that gives more flexibility in positioning and is super
light. This year Burton continues with EST system and adds the new Rx
Adjustable Cushioning System for the Ion boot. The Feelgood and Custom
graphic look amazing and are featured on the opposite page. Burton also
premiers It’s Always Snowing Somewhere, a two disc double feature – see
burton.com/movie for a preview. Lib Tech is also pumping some new R+D
into their boards as well, in which they call the age of Fruity
Enlightenment. This new era brings forth Banana Technology and Magne-traction,
two great forces working together to help you in big landings and better
stability.
Here’s how it works: the traditional camber is replaced
with the rocker ‘banana’ which is a reverse camber so when you stand on the
board pressure is applied to the edge area and between your feet as the
weight presses out the rocker. The flex pattern is slightly stiffer in the
tip and tail to increase pop and is great for big landings. The two
technologies are integrated into Lib Tech’s new freestyle boards such as the
T.Rice Pro Model, the Cygnus X1 and the Skate Banana. Come in to check out
the graphics.
