SOFTGOODS MANAGER

 

Full Time

 

Reporting to the store manager, the softgoods manager manages the softgoods team and inventory to create an excellent retail experience for our customers. The softgoods manager is responsible for maintaining inventory levels on the sales floor, meeting sales goals, exceeding customer service expectations, and creating an appealing shopping experience for customers.

What you will do in this role:

  • Continuously updating an refreshing store displays
  • Organizing and maintaining product in warehouse and on sales floor; creating an easy and charming environment for customers
  • Assist in the planning and organizing of day to day operations of the store, in order to maximize sales and productivity
  • Constantly updating product knowledge in order to become an expert on all softgoods products as well as other products in the store
  • Educate customers on apparel trends in the ski and bike industries and help them choose the right product for their adventures
  • Serve as a role model for all customer service standards
  • Communicate with buyers on a regular basis regarding product availability, sale promotions, hot/cold sellers, and inventory levels
  • Utilize the Point of Sale cash system, processes payments, refunds and exchanges and issues gift cards
  • Perform/complete other additional project, duties, and assignments as required and/or by request, under the direction of the Store Manager
  • Passionately lead and educate on the retail floor

 

Requirements for this role:

 

  • Proven sales experience (1-2 years minimum)
  • Completion of some post-secondary education will be considered an asset
  • Key-holder experience considered an asset
  • Passion, knowledge and involvement in athletic pursuits (skiing, biking, or anything active)

  • Provide the highest level of customer service
  • Exceed personal sales targets on a consistent basis as set by the management, as well as accept guidance and direction regarding performance
  • Educate customers on product specifications in the ski and snowboard industries and help them choose the right product for their adventures
  • Receive/process stock  involving: unpacking, counting, tagging as required, folding, sizing and placing on the floor, with overflow stock in back room
  • Become informed and maintain product knowledge through consistent attendance at training sessions
  • Assist with merchandise presentation and restocking
  • Answers phone inquiries as required
  • Maintain appropriate paperwork regarding returns, telephone and special orders
  • Utilize the Point of Sale cash system, processes payments, refunds and exchanges and issues gift cards
  • Provide feedback to product buyers as needed
  • Create and maintain a clean inviting atmosphere for customers
  • Promote the Skiis & Biikes brand and love of sport philosophy

What you will do in this role:

  • Provide the highest level of customer service
  • Provide excellent bootfitting service in all aspects of the fitting process

  • Create and maintain positive customer relationships by continuously providing excellent customer service and satisfying customer bootfitting needs
  • Accurately identify problems and the appropriate need for customized boot fits and custom footbeds to satisfy both recreational and competitive skiers
  • Maintain appropriate paperwork, tools, and work stations in an organized manner
  • Create and maintain a clean, inviting atmosphere for customers

What you will do in this role:

  • Ensuring customers are receiving excellent service and the products they need for safe, enjoyable cycling, skiing, and snowboarding
  • Continuously updating knowledge of ski and bike mechanics and maintenance
  • Working collaboratively with service shop staff
  • Assembling, maintaining and repairing bikes within Skiis & Biikes' productivity, quality, and safety guidelines
  • Mounting ski and snowboard bindings, tuning and repairing skis and snowboards within Skiis & Biikes' productivity, quality, and safety guidelines
  • Assisting customers in selecting appropriate parts, accessories, and services to meet their needs and ensure their ski, snowboard, and cycling experiences are safe and enjoyable
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Answers phone inquiries as required
  • Working collaboratively as a contributing member of the Skiis & Biikes Team to create an excellent customer service experience

 

Requirements for this role:

  • 1-2 years experience in bike assembly, repair and maintenance in a bike shop and/or 1-2 years experience in ski mounting, repair, and tuning in a ski shop.
  • Experience working with a variety of bikes i.e. kids bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes, city bikes etc. Knowledgeable about latest bike equipment and technologies
  • Passion for cycling and/or skiing
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong teamwork skills and team orientation
  • Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated organization and time management skills
  • Retail and/or customer service experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work well under pressure
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts from Monday to Sunday
  • Bike or ski mechanic technical training considered an asset
