THE
HOT BOX

Skiis & Biikes in Collingwood has installed a new World Cup - Super Hot Box for curing your skis after waxing.
This unit takes up to 15 pair of skis and bakes them for up to 12 hours for only $25 for race skis. This technology has been used on the World Cup circuit for years and now it is available in down town Collingwood.

The result of the Super Hot Box has a
positive influence on gliding speed.

What is it? – How does it work?
The Super Hot Box is a small room that is heated to a temperature determined by the wax and the ski or board construction.

• Preheat the room to the determined temperature.
• Hot wax the skis in the conventional way, using a wax device (iron)
• After hot waxing we rack and batch the skis up to 15 pair
• Heating time is up to 12 hours, depending on waxing requirements and ski or board construction
• After heating process the skis and boards are left to cool in the rack until they reach room temperature
• Skis and boards are then scraped and finished in the usual fashion
• The Super Hot Box can also be used to post-treat a ski fully prepared in the conventional manner - “tempering”
